Florence and the Machine is an English band made up of lead vocalist Florence Welch, and a collaboration of other artists as back-up. Florence and the Machine can be described as a bit of a mix between rock and soul. The band's debut album, Lungs, was released on 6 July 2009, and held the number-two position for its first five weeks in the UK Albums Chart. nd was nominated for Best New Artist at the 53rd Grammy Awards, gaining recognition and popularity, rightfully so. For all you “Gleeks”, Florence’s Dog Days Are Over was performed in the show. This band is gaining recognition for that song, in particular, but they have many other songs that deserve just as much praise. Some of them are Kiss With a Fist and You’ve Got the Love.
